Nelson Sierra (pictured) along with other members of Local 1049, volunteered to help with the Jacob's Light Foundation - a foundation that helps deployed troops overseas by sending them necessities and comforts from home. On the last Tuesday of every month, members of the local help packing boxes to be shipped to the troops. On June 4th, some members participated in the 4th annual Motorcycle Poker Run to help raise funds for the foundation. Jacob's Light needs all the help they can get, whether you volunteer your time or make a monetary donation. Dorine Kenny, founder of the foundation, created it in memory of her son Jacob who lost his life while serving our country. Go to their website, http://www.jacobsprogram.org/ to see how you can get involved or contact 1049's Kevin Quinn at (516) 810-1453 to volunteer some time. Nice work 1049!
