Teamsters Local 812 has been on strike for the last 3 weeks at Clare Rose, the sole distributor of Budweiser products on Long Island.  The union went on strike after the greedy company proposed cutting their salaries by 30% and eliminating their pension in favor of a 401k. These brave men and women are not only on strike to protect their families, but the families of their co-workers, both who came before and those that will come after them.

UCOMM took a field trip to the picket line in Melville New York today to offer the guys support and let them know we are standing with them.  Below is a video we did from the picket line where LaGrange talked to the workers about why they are on strike. LaGrange also reveals the list of all the businesses on Long Island that are refusing to take scab beer and will not be serving Clare Rose products until the strike is over.  If you are a business that’s respecting the strikers and refusing service from the scabs at Clare Rose, shoot us your info at desk@ucommblog.com and if you see a scab out driving trucks or delivering product, take a picture of them and tag it #scabcam.

List of establishments respecting the strike:

  • The Cortland, Bay Shore
  • Milk and Sugar, Bay Shore
  • Tara Inn, Port Jefferson
  • APA Pool
