NYC Police Union HQ Raided by Feds
The controversial leader of the SBA had his office and house raided as part of a long term investigation
On Tuesday morning the controversial 13,0000 member NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association’s (SBA) office in lower Manhattan and the home of their President was raided by federal investigators from the FBI and the Manhattan office of the US Attorney.
According to the Daily News, the FBI has said the agency was “carrying out a law enforcement action in connection with an ongoing investigation” into the SBA. Both the FBI and the US Attorney’s office have refused to comment on the reason or the target of the raid, although it would appear that they are investigating the President of the union Ed Mullins since they raided his office and home. A law enforcement source told the NY Post that the raid was part of a long-term investigation.
Video from outside of the SBA offices showed two federal officers leave the building with two boxes, while reports say that the feds seized a computer from Mullins home on Long Island which they raided around 6 AM.

The union, which represents sergeants in the New York Police Department, has been led by Mullins since 2002. In that time, he has become a controversial figure due to his attacks on police leadership and Mayor Bill De Blasio. In 2020, Mullins came under fire and was hit with departmental charges after he released the arrest report of de Blasio’s daughter Chiara on social media. Chiara was arrested while taking part in protesting the police killing of George Floyd. The department argued at the time that the charges were brought because Mullins released an unredacted version of the arrest report that included her drivers' license number and birthdate, potentially exposing her personal information to scammers who could steal her identity.
In another instance, Mullins tweeted that the City’s health commissioner was a “b---h” who had “blood on her hands” after she sparred with the NYPD after the two sparred about giving the NYPD over a half a million face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Truth is this bitch has blood on her hands but why should anyone be surprised the NYPD has suffered under DeBlasio since he became Mayor. https://t.co/lFGQJnBJoQ

He also faced criticism last year after Mullins emailed an “explicitly racist” video to his members with the message "Pay close attention to every word. You will hear what goes through the mind of real policemen every single day on the job. This is the best video I've ever seen telling the public the absolute truth." The 15-minute video was narrated by Willie Shields, a radio host, and conspiracist, who said "The projects will always be dens of crime and violence. Cops will continue to wade into that fray and blacks will continue to attack and ambush us forever." It went on to describe black people as monsters, public housing as a war zone, and called section 8 residents scam artists who jump from baby momma to baby momma. Mullins has also drawn criticism for appearing on Fox News with a Q-Anon mug behind him but in the shot.
Ironically, the SBA, who along with other New York City police unions supported Trump in 2020, called on Trump to “send in the Feds” last year claiming that progressive politicians put New York “under siege.”
