Calm down on the DNC email scandal
The short list of the new DNC chairs may have a much stronger record with unions and all the press is FOX News B.S
People are up in arms over the leak of emails from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) that appear to show the chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz playing favorites during the primary season, but everyone should relax, these emails actually had very little to do with Hillary Clinton winning the primary.
As the emails leak out, we are getting a better picture of the role that the DNC played in the primary campaign. Initially, they came under heavy criticism for picking debate nights that would have low viewership, like on Friday nights. Now we are seeing that the DNC was actually feeding strategy to the Clinton campaign like telling them to attack Senator Bernie Sanders on his religion. While much of what is being released is bad, very little of it seems to have been used by the Clinton campaign. Other than strategy, most of the emails seem to be personal opinions of those in the DNC and housekeeping emails like moving around joint donors at joint fundraising meetings. Of course, the personal opinions of the chair clearly show a bias against Sanders which do not look good for her and have forced Schultz to resign and not speak at the convention.
These emails will inevitably fire up the Sanders base; there was very little evidence that her actions caused any change in the election. With Schultz stepping down, the liberal wing of the party should see this as a great opportunity to put in one of their own in the position. There are many names being talked about already including many of the contenders for Vice President, like Corey Booker, Elizabeth Warren, and former Presidential rival Martin O’Malley. Many of these names have much stronger labor ties then Schultz had. So while it may look bad now, everyone should calm the F down and see that this is a huge blessing in disguise.
