Millwright Sounds Stupid at Biden Visit
Gun nut embarrasses himself, attacks Biden on jobsite
Just hours before Biden won a decisive victory in Michigan, the former Vice President toured an auto plant with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). While touring the plant, Biden stopped to fist bump and talk with some of the workers who were on break. While talking to one worker, Biden was questioned about his position on guns and the ensuing video occurred.
WATCH: "You’re full of sh*t," @JoeBiden tells a man who accused him of "actively trying to end our Second Amendment right."

Here is the transcript of the exchange between Biden and Jerry Wayne, who is with the Millwrights:
Man: "You are actively trying to end our Second Amendment right and take away our guns."
Biden: "You're full of shit. I did not—no, no, shush. Shush. I support the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment -- just like right now if you yelled fire, that's not free speech. And from the very beginning, I have a shotgun, I have a 20-gauge, a 12-gauge. My sons hunt, guess what? You're not allowed to own any weapon, I'm not taking your gun away at all. You need 100 rounds?"
Man: "You and Beto say you're going to take our guns --"
Biden: "I did not say that. That's not true. I did not say that."
Man: "It's a viral video."
Biden: "It's a viral video like the other ones you're putting out that are simply a lie. Wait, wait wait, wait, take your AR, your AR-14, Don't tell me anything about (inaudible)"
Man: "You're working for me, man."
Biden: "I'm not working for -- gimme a break man. Don't be such a horse's ass."
Since the encounter over 8 million people has watched the video and have had many different opinions on it. Some praised Biden for not backing down and standing up to this gun nut, while others used it as an attack on Biden, mocking him for referring to the gun as an AR-14. Wayne even went on Fox, wearing a Tea Party hat, to try and defend himself. It is clear that the guy was trying to embarrass Biden. He couldn’t look past his NRA-Trump fueled talking points on guns and be respectful of a candidate who is working to preserve unions and his job. Instead, he rattled off the crazed talking points of the union-busting Trump. This guy only cared about his gun, not about his fellow workers and his embarrassing behavior showed that he was clearly compensating for something.
This type of behavior embarrasses the entire union movement. Why would a politician want to come to a job site when they are going to get yelled at for another totally unrelated issue? While his fellow workers and leaders at the site eventually stepped in to move him away and allow the former Vice President to talk to other members, they let the interaction go on for way to long.
One thing that the video does show is that Biden has a lot of fight left in him and that fight will be needed in November against Trump. Union groups on Facebook were full of members saying Go Joe, and that the video made them more likely to vote for him. With the election coming up it is more important than ever to remember that union members need to support candidates who support union rights above all other issues. Let’s not be dumb this year, vote your wallet, not your guns.
