UCOMM PAC Launches First Persuasion Ad
The scathing ad highlights some of Trump's biggest attacks on labor
Today UCOMM PAC released their first ad, entitled "Trump's 4 Year War on Labor." The short ad will target union votes in swing states reminding them of the anti-worker and anti-union policies that Trump has pushed over the last four years.
Over his first term, Trump has set his sights squarely on destroying organized labor. He has attacked union leaders, put a PATCO strikebreaker on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and appointed Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, where he was the deciding vote on the Janus v AFSCME case. He has also attacked federal workers at the VA, calling them sadistic thieves.
What did Trump’s appointments and policies do? The NLRB took away unions' right to negotiate COVID-19 safety measures and at OSHA inspections have gone down, but workplace deaths have risen.
Union voters could be the difference in some key swing states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. All of the Midwest states were decided by 1% or less, while Nevada was won after a massive Get out the Vote effort by local Las Vegas unions like the Culinary Workers Union. Simply put if union voters in these states come out and vote for the Pro-Union candidates, Trump will lose in November.
