Unions are patriotic organizations, few can argue against that. The rights and freedoms that working people take advantage of, are rights and freedoms that thousands have fought and died to protect. The right to bargain collectively, the freedom of speech, the freedom to assemble peacefully and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Organized labor understands that these great inalienable rights have come with great sacrifice. So with Memorial Day Weekend upon us, UCOMM Radio would like to dedicate this UCOMM News Network WiRE section of our email to encourage us all to take a breather this weekend. On Monday, fly old glory at half-staff until noon and fly the POW/MIA flag as well. At 3 pm, say a prayer or give a moment of reflection in honor of those we lost. Maybe take the kids to a War Memorial or the local parade. Also consider renting or purchasing the below film. Our individual feelings this weekend will differ per person, but we can collectively give thanks and be grateful. Because on Memorial Day, our actions truly do speak louder than words.
