In California, a multi-year drought has created conditions that are perfect for forest fires.  Now, with the “Rocky Fire” blazing, IBEW Local 1245 members are stepping in to help the residents that were impacted by the fire.  About 100 members of Local 1245, whose members work for the California utility PG&E, were dispatched to the affected area to work closely with the fire fighters and other first responders to replace poles and restore power.  The members are working in rugged terrain, including triple digit temperatures in areas that just hours before had been engulfed in flames.  To date the fire has burned 65,000 acres and forced the evacuation of over 1,400 people.  Great job to Local 1245 and all of the first responders and stay safe!
