Quality King likes men, not women.
Workers at Quality King, a pharmaceutical and personal care products repacking company, rallied at the company’s headquarters in Bellport Long Island this week. The workers, who are mostly women and Latino’s, have been working without a contract since their previous one expired in May. They allege that the company signed a union contract with another bargaining unit, which was made up of mostly men, but is refusing to work with the women. The current offer that the company made to the workers was to pay them the state minimum wage. According to the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 2013, the union representing the workers, the company takes advantage of workers in the repack division "because they think they can."
