Kris LaGrange is the head of UCOMM Communication, a labor focused communications firm specializing in internal and external communications for local unions and labor councils. UCOMM is retained by over 30 organizations spanning 4 states, directing and coordinating website and email communications, radio and television advertising and media messaging. Before launching UCOMM in 2006, Kris worked for the Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, the Suffolk County Executives office, the NYS Assembly, the NYS Comptroller, the Service Employees International Union and the Working Families Party. After attending SUNY Cortland then receiving a degree in Political Science from SUNY Brockport, Kris attended the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute. Kris worked on his Masters in Organizational Behavior and Development at Long Island University and has been published in newspapers and news websites across the Northeastern United States and is currently a regular columnist with the Long Island Business News. Kris has earned citations from the Nassau County Legislature, the Town of Oyster Bay and the Suffolk County Executive as well as winning awards in communication excellence from the Long Island Business News, the Long Island Labor Advisory Council and the Brookhaven Democratic Party.
Kris was the host of UCOMM Radio on 770 WABC which aired over 220 shows and is the current publisher and editor-n-chief of UCOMM Blog dot com, a premier news aggregate website specializing in labor-focused stories and opinions.
